The piece features the creation of a “Crowning of the Crone Ceremony” for Louise David of Gatineau, Quebec. Traditionally, this ceremony is held for a post-menopausal woman as a way to consciously take on the role of a Crone, or woman elder, thereby offering her wisdom back to her community.
The whole process of creating the ceremony included an initial client meeting; homework to help Louise prepare herself for the ceremony; several drafts of the script; further client meetings, emails and phone calls to consult about how best to personalize the ceremony so it had the deepest meaning for Louise; a brief introduction for her guests; and finally the ceremony itself.
Not all of this made it onto the show, but you do get an overall view of what it was like to create this particular ceremony and what it is like to work with a Ceremonialist.
